YOLA at HOLA Music Instructor

Jackie DesRosier graduated summa cum laude from The Hartt School of Music in Connecticut with a dual degree in Music Education and French Horn Performance. After graduation, she freelanced with various orchestras and theatre companies throughout New England and New York, taught elementary instrumental music in Connecticut, coached instrumental chamber groups, and maintained a private horn studio. In 2013, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her Master of Arts in Teaching through Bard College. Post graduation, Jackie was employed as  a teaching artist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the YOLA Neighborhood Project. She now teaches elementary general music with Education Through Music Los Angeles and works as a brass specialist with the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (YOLA) students at both HOLA and EXPO. Last year, she started working as the HOLA Children’s Orchestra conductor. When Jackie is not teaching, she loves reading, being outdoors, and playing her horn.
