TEACHING ARTIST - PRINTMAKING
Dusty Tailor is first generation American and was born in a small agricultural town nestled in the central coast of California. Having spent much of his upbringing around family farms and ranches, Dusty pulls his inspiration from California's eclectic array of flora, fauna, and food produce. Family heritage and the current state of the environment, like drought or genetically modified foods, also informs his art making process. Dusty received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking at the College of The Arts, California State University Long Beach in 2014 and since has been working as artist assistant to Master Printmaker/Full Professor Roxanne Sexauer. Dusty shows nationally and internationally, predominantly in the world of fine art printmaking and bookmaking. He recently returned from an artist residency in Barcelona where he lived and worked with Master Printers from Spain. At HOLA, Dusty teaches various techniques in Traditional Printmaking like Intaglio and Relief.
