Counseling Program Director
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Nancy received her undergraduate degree at Georgetown University. After working in mental health in Boston, Nancy obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work at Smith College. Having discovered her love of working with children, adolescents and their families, Nancy continued post-graduate training at the Graduate Center for Child Development and Psychotherapy in Los Angeles.
Nancy has been working with children and adolescents since the 1980s, when she began working at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She has an ongoing private practice in psychotherapy since that time. She also has been supervising masters level social work and MFT interns for many years.
In July 2009, Nancy began to volunteer at HOLA to provide counseling services to students at HOLA. After one year, she became a staff member, and has expanded the counseling program through partnerships with USC, Loyola Marymount University and Cal State LA. The counseling program has expanded to take three masters level interns each academic year. During the year, the counseling department works with over 110 students and 25 families.
Nancy is married and the mother of two college graduates, both of whom have volunteered at HOLA. When she is not working, Nancy hikes in the canyons of Los Angeles, practices yoga, and sings with Artes Vocales at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music.
