Vicki graduated from UC Berkeley in 2012 with a major in Sociology. She has worked in the field of education for the past 6 years with experience ranging from students in pre-school through high school. Vicki worked as a math interventionist in Denver, Colorado for three years, working with elementary school students to make gains in math achievement. Most recently, she has returned from teaching abroad in the hometown of Shakira, Barranquilla, Colombia. There she collaborated with native Colombian English teachers to enhance their English level and teaching strategies, while also co-teaching 9th, 10th and 11th grade English classes. During this time she attained her Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate, in hopes of using this to work with bilingual students back here in Los Angeles. Vicki’s dream is to continue working in education and plans to attend Cal State LA in order to receive her Master's degree in Elementary Education. She is passionate about creating a classroom environment where students can feel confident to experiment, grow, and develop into life- long learners.
