Celebrating generational change

30 years ago, Lafayette Park was not a place that just anyone could visit. Gang violence was common, community tensions with police ran high, and the likelihood that neighborhood children would receive a quality education was devastatingly low. Through the commitment of Heart of Los Angeles volunteers, donors, and staff, working in partnership with the community and its assets, a change has taken place. Poverty is not necessarily generational, there are options other than gangs, and success stories and role models are no longer hard to find.

Still there is more to be done, and HOLA’s 30th Anniversary Gala is a powerful chance to propel our work forward. This event will galvanize our community around a vision for the next generation of positive change, in which every child has the opportunity to be the architect of their own destiny and youth from all backgrounds and neighborhoods are empowered as change agents.

Join Los Angeles’ most influential icons, philanthropists, business leaders, and public officials—alongside emerging youth leaders—as we embark on the next phase in our work to secure opportunity for all children.
