HOLA Breaks Ground on New Building
"OUR LEGACY WILL BE JUDGED BY HOW WE EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION OF ANGELENOS."
-City Council President Herb Wesson
On the morning of November 2, 2017, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and City Council President Herb Wesson celebrated the historic groundbreaking of HOLA's new flagship building! Together with our dedicated project partners, community members, and donors, we acknowledged the enormous amount of hard work and dedication that has already gone into this exciting project, which is set for completion in Spring 2018.
“THERE WAS A LOT OF THOUGHTFULNESS AND COMMUNITY LISTENING, [SO] THIS PROJECT IS GOING TO BE THAT MUCH MORE SPECIAL FOR MANY GENERATIONS TO COME.”
- Tony Brown, HOLA CEO
HOLA’s new 25,000 square foot headquarters will feature custom-designed activity and community rooms, music rooms and creative lab spaces. With more than 300 families still on HOLA’s waitlists quarterly, we are thrilled to expand our capacity to serve the community by 74%! Read more about our new Arts & Recreation Center here.
