  • Lucy Matsumoto

Director of Development - Ext. 241

Lucy Matsumoto was genetically predisposed to be a Development Officer, but it’s her love of people that has made her successful. Raised in a family dedicated to the ideals of service, she was enrolled in volunteerism long before she ever imagined a professional career in Development.

But after an education at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and an accomplished business career first in catering than commercial production and finally real estate, this Texas native gave way to the inevitable and became a Development Officer. It’s a decision she has not regretted for a moment.

“There’s something artful about a successful ask.” Lucy explains. “Whether it’s strategizing an exciting sponsorship opportunity, or helping a donor realize the impact and return on their social investment.  My job is to articulate a compelling case for giving, and to explore all options so that the donor is completely comfortable with the value of their giving.  It’s deeply satisfying when, at the end of the day, I have been able to help facilitate a win for both the mission and the donor I serve.”

Lucy’s easy going style is balanced by her deep understanding of philanthropy and her diligent attention to detail.
