HOLA Remembers Peter Hursh a Dear Friend, Family & Board Member
On Wednesday, June 24th, HOLA Board Member and dear friend, Peter Hursh passed away.
Peter was more than just a very experienced corporate and non profit Board member. Peter's entire family followed his philanthropic lead by each making personal connections between Heart of Los Angeles and their own lives. Truckloads of much needed shoes, dresses, jerseys, art work and athletic equipment regularly found their way from the Pacific Palisades and Brentwood School to the kids and families at Heart of Los Angeles, thanks to the Hursh's.
Peter and his wife Robin were supportive of HOLA's Arts programs, regularly attending Education and Arts events and buying youth prints and paintings. Executive Director, Tony Brown reflects, "Peter's contributions both inside and out of the Board room always demonstrated that he had the best interests of the kids and families at heart. He was brilliant at reminding us all of HOLA's mission and how we could personally feel connected and make a difference for the kids and families through individual and group actions.
On behalf of HOLA's Board of Directors and staff, our hearts will forever go out to Peter's family, wife Robin, daughter Hollon and son Casey. Peter's spirit will live on through the work of the entire organization.
On Thursday, June 25th, at HOLA's Graduation Ceremony, over 250 families, staff, Board members and friends observed a moment of silence in Peter's honor. "Peter would have been really proud after year's of service on the Board to see over 30 kids graduate into colleges and universities. A moment of silence at this ceremony, seemed the absolute most fitting way to say thank you."
