El Corazon Gallery was es tablished in 2008 by Rebecca Clark, Maria Galicia, Dan McCleary, and Alex Nataren. Its purpose is to showcase the work of HOLA's exceptional fine arts program,  El Corazon Gallery has developed into a vibrant community cultural institution.  Through it's exhibitions and programs El Corazon is devoted to creating interaction and dialogue between students, profesional artists, and the broader constiuency which HOLA serves.

As the heart of HOLA's unique arts program, El Corazon is committed to encouraging emerging artists and to stimulate public dialogue on issues of art, community, and culture.

Dan McCleary , Artistic Director ,said "I wanted to give a voice to HOLA's art students and have their work exhibited along side professional artists."Maria Galicia, was excited to be given the opportunity to be the gallery's  Assistant Director.  Maria grew up in the area and started coming to HOLA as a child, "the gallery gives an opportunity to show our kids work in a whole new level. It amazing how a small ideal ends up to become a  beautiful show."

HOLA's Fine Art Director Melanie Lockert, is thrilled to have the El Corazon Gallery in the same building as HOLA's art studio ."Our kids are producing so much incredible art and to have a vehicle to showcase their work within the community is truly exciting."

On June 7, 2008 the Gallery opened its first one man show with a collection of paintings and drawings by Javier Carrillo, one of HOLA's artists in residence Mr. Carrillo says,  "I'm excited to be given the opportunity to have my own show and a little scared to see what will happen and how people will react to my work". He went on to do a residency at George College and State University.

The exhibit  was followed by a group show of HOLA's students curated by HOLA's other Artists in Residence, Ana Baranda. This was followed by a print show curated by LA artist Lucas Reiner.
